30 weeks and kidney stones

I turned 30 weeks and went to the doctor. On Wednesday morning I experienced pain in my right kidney. I called the doctor and the nurse said to come in and get my urine tested to see what was going on. I left work early on Wednesday to go take the test but I was in so much pain that I went home and tried to relax. I had lost my phone earlier that day and so I couldn't call anyone to take me. I slowly looked for my phone. At about 1 I took some Tylenol and at about 2 it finally relieved some of the pain. I found my phone which was in a huge pile of clothes and called my mom. My mom told me to call my sister and so I did. My sister was able to take me and about 3, I was able to take the urine test. I wouldn't get the results till the next day. I went to work on Thursday and I was in so much pain all day. My doctor told me that my urine showed no bacteria and so I didn't have a urinary tract infection but that it showed protein and blood so it was most likely had a kidney stone. He also told me that everything is looking good. He wants me to come back every 2 weeks since I am so far along. Then he told us about the ultrasound. His kidneys have not gotten worse but not better either. He said that our baby's kidneys will have to be looked at by the pediatrician. My plan is to call and meet with Dr. Koil. I know a lot of people who use him and say he is outstanding. Then Ben and I were on our way to preregister and I slipped on some water. It was very scary to all of a sudden be on the ground. I didn't land on my belly which is good. I landed on all fours. I had to give a statement to a security guard. Well we were able to preregister and then were able to get a tour of the hospital. I really liked the hospital and I think that it will be a nice atmosphere. The day was very eventful! On Friday I woke up pain free and I was so happy and thankful! It was a great weekend... lots of time with my wonderful husband. We went shopping for food to restock our freezer and we were able to stock up a lot with all the sales. Well that is about it. He has been moving like crazy and I enjoy feeling him! Ben and I can't wait till he is out and we can finally get to know him personally.

29 weeks and update

It has been a really long time since I wrote anything or put up any pictures. So much has happened since then. First, I passed my glucose test and everything is OK with that. Second, I found out what is wrong with his kidneys. The tube that connects to the kidneys is dilated and his body isn't using it. Since his body isn't using it, urine is collecting in his kidneys. Its not a big deal and should be gone by the time he is born but the doctor wants to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any worse. The worst case is that if it is still there when he is born than they will stick a tube into his kidneys and drain it that way. Ben and I are trusting God and know that His plan is best. Next I had another ultrasound and got some really good pictures of his face. It was so good to see him again. He weighs 3 pounds 12 ounces. He gained almost 2 pounds in one month. I think that he looks so much like Ben and I can't wait to see his face. Last but not least my work threw me a baby shower. They were beyond gracious and generous. It was so exciting getting all of the items that they gave me. Oh and after my baby shower yesterday, I came home to my deep freezer not working. The power outlet went out, not sure when, and everything went bad. It was very stressful but I was told that it is hopefully covered in our homeowners policy. So hopefully we will be able to get reimbursed for all of our food. We are going to contact the insurance company on Monday. My mom came over to help me yesterday with organizing all the baby clothes and stuff that I got from my baby shower while my dad helped Ben with the flooring. The flooring has been hard to do and Ben has worked almost everyday this week to get it done. It is almost finished and it looks so good. It is going to be so worth it when it is done. We have been extremely blessed and I am so thankful to God for everything that he has helped us with. Pray for his kidneys still, the freezer situation, and that Ben and I would continue to trust God in everything.

Third ultrasound in April

This picture is from my third ultrasound on April 13, 2009. I didn't have the CD and so I finally got it back and am now able to put it up. He weighed 1 lb 14 oz.
